Summer-- one of those things we cannot wait until it comes.
Then, once here, we often complain when those lazy, hazy days are upon us
and then we clamor for some cooling relief. Then it seems just as soon
as summer gets here –&n it’s gone! And then the cycle starts over again.
Well, summer has officially arrived! And we in the Christian Ed Ministry are
already making plans to help provide you with some “relief” and also at the
same time help build the Church. We are planning to continue one of the
traditions of EACC, that of having the annual Vacation Bible School. We have
held some preliminary conversations with Mt. Zion UCC to partner with them
in having a joint Vacation Bible School this year. They are eager and
excited to work with us on this project. The VBS session will be held
starting on August 16th and ending on Saturday August 21st with a “Food For
The Soul“ activity. But, for now, we can share that the VBS sessions would
be scheduled from 6 PM to 8:30 PM, with a light meal served at 6:30. Unlike
in the past, you may even attend study sessions scheduled for adults. This
event promises to be a great opportunity for fellowship and for building HIS
church as Euclid Ave and Mt. Zion take this walk in faith together! Who
knows where this type of joint ministry may lead? Hopefully it leads to more
interaction between us in the future. More details will be forthcoming
For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18;20

Daily Vacation Bible
School in early August 2008 was a huge success. Between 25 and 35 children
attended every day for five days, and not only had a wonderful time but
learned a lot from their many devoted teachers. Thanks are due the many
adults and youth who served either as teachers or cooks: Cloggie Crowder,
Dean Sieck, Veronica Fullerton, Bob Henderson, Cyndi Henderson, Robyn
Nordstrom, Johnnie Mitchell, Noreen Roderick, Manny Roderick, Ruth Ann
Hampton, Victoria Mitchell, Jewel Green, Linda Brewer, Robin Crowder, Amber
Green, Raven Baker, Chris Sanders, Michael Sanders, Lavera Hampton and Jewel
Green’s granddaughter Hanna.
